Alaska photos, day one
Here's the first batch of Alaska photos, corresponding to day one of my diary. I'm overwhelmed by how many there are (1,337, seriously), so I'm going to take it a little slow and hopefully be a little conservative about what I post.
Side note: this is the first trip shot with my new Canon XTi. Thoughts? I haven't adjusted any of them.

The B&B we stayed at in Anchorage is just out of sight.

Potter Marsh.

Dall Sheep on a mountainside.

Seward.

These are for visitors to the docks and boats and stuff. But I think it's funny, in a morbid sort of way. Where is the kid? Oh, he didn't float.

A few pictures of us I liked.

In the 60's, an earthquake "sank" this group of buildings, still visible at the side of Seward Highway.

This little guy was insatiably curious about us. He kept dashing up within a few feet, rising onto his hind legs, dashing away to a different vantage point, and doing it all over again until he was satisfied. Very cute. I wanted a better picture, but I didn't think I could move to get out a zoom lens or move to a better position.
