New Phantom fandom newsletter!

Anyone who cares has probably seen this elsewhere, but...

Taking over where [livejournal.com profile] operanotes left off, [livejournal.com profile] loge_no_5 is a new Phantom of the Opera newsletter for the fandom, collecting news and updates from stage, film, fanfiction, and fandom fields. I'm still tweaking the design and the layout, but the first newsletter is up!

Please join, and let me know what you wan to see from a community like this. My aim is to give us a clearing-house for fandom activity around the internet, as I have yet to find a centralized location for Phantom fandom. That means that any news is welcome (though I will not, most likely, be following every move of every person who's ever played in a film/show of that name). But major developments, contests, fanfiction, discussion, and on down through new RPs needing members should be covered, and I'd much appreciate your help in getting this off the ground.

[In other words, yes, I'm crazy.]

That is considered a requirement for all this fandom.

It looks fantastic! Good luck and looking forward to the goodies.

Sorry I couldn't reply to you earlier, but my internet at home has been pretty flickery and real life keeps getting in the way.

Hey! It looks so good! I'm really glad you did this.

One suggestion I have is "Older Fic of the Day". One newsletter I know does it. It doesn't seem to make much sense for that fandom, because that fandom is still alive and hoppin'. But it seems like it would be good for POTO. You could advertise some fics you like. You could also ask for recs. So the bottom of the newsletter could be:

Older Fic of the Day
Your Mom, recced by your mom.

This will get people participating in fandom, get fic read, inspire people to write fic, and let people know they can rec stuff. I mean, hopefully. Just a suggestion!

Dunno how much you know about it, but lots of newsletters have a dummy user with all the active comms and stuff friended. That way if you ever get another mod you can give them the user password and they can have all the relevant stuff for collection at their finger tips.

I'm glad you're doing this. You rock (in a fetal position in the corner, as PSC Dylan would say).
