Some recent portraits I've completed for the holiday season. I still have very mixed feelings about this endeavor, as I cannot call it "art" but cannot reconcile myself to the production of it otherwise. But I like how these turned out.

Well, if I traced I wouldn't get that. I'd get a mess of squiggles. And you convey personalities too.

Thank you. Mostly I'm making trouble for myself, I know. But art is so subjective; my comfort level is based more on how I feel at the moment rather than some logical basis for "what is art," since that is not entirely codified.

there is NOTHING WRONG WITH TRACING!!!!!!!!! The Pre-Raphaelites would have thought that tracing from photos was the highest form of art (only they didn't have photos so had to make everything hyper realistic with their eyes which is harder but still the same basic concept).

Your work is art. I has a degree in knowing what is art so I win. Now accept it or I'll have to get the clue stick.

P.S. what do you think I do?
