Quote of the day: Phantom as Star Trek

Paris Opera was a living thing, full of a mad collection of people performing and doing their thing. It was somewhat like the starship Enterprise—completely self-sufficient.
-John Mathieson, cinematographer for the 2004 Phantom of the Opera

So my challenge to you: who's who? Any crew, but I prefer TOS and TNG because I know them better. And DS9 (but we already know Bashir is the Persian). Basically I don't know Voyager and Enterprise. And whatever POTO canon you can shoehorn 'em into.

Personally, I want Kirk to play everything.

That is awesome - because young Charlie X really *is* very "Erik in training." That's actually a great fanfic plot-bunny idea, too.

How about Harcourt Fenton Mudd as one of the managers? He's already the impresario type.

Excellent call with the "Requiem for Methusaleh" story, with the focus on the "old man/young woman" vs. "young man rival." Rayna short-circuiting and dying does have an echo at the end of the 2004 movie - only movie!Christine's death is longer and slower. That's probably where the "Crazy Christine" trope comes from, where she's made mad by her internal conflicts over the two men.
