Black Book
He who knew the secrets of the Trapdoor Lover kept his notes in a little black book. In it he wrote what were not so much clues as a record of his quest—a diary-in-code of his pursuit of Erik. A pursuit even he did not know the purpose of. He knew, had cataloged, nearly everything else. Only one piece eluded him. The piece Erik himself would have considered the only essential, though until now the Persian had paid her little mind.
The girl.

Here's what would really happen. My interpretation, anyway. Snarkiness ahead, ya'll.
Fandom: Phantom of the Opera (Leroux)
Characters: it's a secret
Pairing: none
Summary: Time travel. A modern girl finds herself back at the Paris Opera. Will she find the Phantom? Will she become a diva? NOT a MarySue. NOT romance. Based on Leroux. Guaranteed to bring you the same surprise ending you expect from vintage l_aurens.

I didn't tell anyone where I was going.
I knew they wouldn't let me if I did. The journey was bad enough: "That's too far, Madeleine," they'd say. "What is it you want, so far away? What do you need that God cannot provide for you right here?" The sisters were fortunate in their faith, you see. I had no such trust that God was looking out for any of us.

comments like "OMG! Evil Raoul Lover! (throws mask)". Anyway, in the interest of consolidating my limited online presence (but really just in the hopes that someone who hasn't will read it, blah blah), here's...
( kissing the frog )
Well, kind of. This was inspired several years ago by my reading of Forsyth's "Phantom of Manhattan." I can credit Mr. Forsyth with jumpstarting my writing career by writing what is possibly the worst book I've ever read. It's been on ff.net for awhile, and I've greatly enjoyed getting ( kissing the frog )

Oh, and give me suggestions before I post this to ff.net and annoy all the phangirls.
