What do you do about a cat who just will not shut up? And not in a charming, talkative Siamese sort of way (assuming you find such things charming): Josie cries. Most of the day. She and Tilda (Tilda's the short-haired tortie, Josie's the medium-haired calico) are locked up at night, which is keeping them from waking us up. But during the day, Josie just wails. I can't find any pattern. She's fed, she isn't ill as far as I can tell, she's got a friend, and unless she's asleep or actively being entertained (by us or Tilda) she's crying.
Okay, right now she's tearing around the house, which is fine.
But it's distracting, and for people working from home (which, at the moment, is both myself and Mr. Daroga), it's maddening.
Has anyone else had this problem? I've tried denying her attention when she's crying. I've got a plug-in kitty pheromone thingy. I've tried to give them toys to keep them occupied (they're pretty destructive, so most stationary toys get mangled and useless within half an hour). I don't mind the little murmuring noises she makes like a tribble or a sped-up wookie. But the loud wailing is aggravating.
Any thoughts?
